Community

United Co-operatives is committed to giving something back to the community:

Co-operative Foundation - Launched in 2000, the Foundation seeks to support community and voluntary sector activity by offering grants of up to £30,000. To date more than £8 million has been donated to the Foundation to support this activity.

Community Awards Scheme - This scheme, operated through our food retail outlets, offers small grants (up to £500) to local community groups.  This year 182 from 420 applications were successful in securing awards totalling more than £30,000.

Community Sponsorship - Each year the Society sets aside a significant sponsorship fund to help deliver its social goals.  Community projects in partnership with regional theatres, the Rugby Football League and many other organisations, have been supported as a result.
